Conferences

NILD conducts multi-day conferences around the United States in the Spring and Fall. NILD partners also provide conferences outside of the U.S. Attendees receive official NILD certificates of attendance that can be used to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain school or professional organization certification requirements.

NILD conferences are designed to provide on-going professional development for NILD educational therapists and teachers and seek to give all educators and parents a better understanding of learning disabilities and NILD Educational Therapy®. At our conferences, NILD seeks to be a conduit for linking our members as well as all educators to current research that strengthens intervention methods and equips attendees to unlock the learning potential in for all students.

In-Service Workshops

NILD consultants are available for in-service workshops in order to introduce or to further general understanding of the NILD program or learning disabilities in general within a school community.

Courses & Workshops

NILD offers several courses and workshops to help educators understand and meet the needs of students with learning challenges of all kinds. Webinars 

NILD offers LIVE seminars delivered over the internet (“webinars”) featuring experts and top educators who address current topics in the field of learning disabilities. Information is provided on a wide range of topics, from young child development to understanding reading to the reading brain, understanding assessments and making math count. Educational Therapist Certification

Licensure: Upon successful completion of NILD Levels I, II, or III, therapists sign a licensure agreement that automatically gives them a one-year license to practice NILD Educational Therapy. Being licensed ensures the educational therapist is compliant with NILD’s policies and is permitted to practice and purchase educational therapy materials as well as access all the exciting Licensee Benefits available to all current licensees. Licensure expire September 30th of the year following the therapist’s course completion. October 1st is the deadline for submitting license renewal for the upcoming year. Affiliate Membership is also available for college students, classroom educators, and inactive or retired NILD Educational Therapists who desire to remain affiliated with NILD.

Certification: Those who successfully complete NILD Level III may apply to become a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist.  If they choose not to, they will be licensed (including benefits) until September 30th of the year following their course completion. They can continue to renew their license annually and enjoy the benefits other NILD Level graduates enjoy. Or, they can pursue the PCET. Certification in effect supersedes licensure. As long as they successfully recertify annually (for $250) they will be licensed to practice as an NILD ET on an annual basis with all other benefits included.

NILD educational therapist certification is offered to ensure adequate and active professional development for each educational therapist. NILD educational therapists are eligible to become a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) after successful completion of all three NILD training courses (NILD Levels I, II, and III). Certification must be renewed annually along with regular licensure.
